Career Technical Institute offers a quality Associate Degree of Applied Science in Allied Healthcare – Medical Assistant Concentration. With a medical assistant healthcare degree, you have greater access to clinical and administrative positions in the offices of physicians, hospitals and other healthcare practitioners.

Medical assistant jobs are on the rise, and for those looking to start their career in the medical assistant field, with the skills that can set them apart from the competition, the advanced Medical Assistant training offered at Career Technical Institute (CTI) is the way to go! You will receive comprehensive training to perform certain clinical tasks, front office administrative duties and wide-ranging medical coding and medical billing duties.

In this program, students will learn how to assist medical providers and perform front office administrative duties and basic clinical tasks, such as Phlebotomy and Hematology, EKG, Pharmacology and Minor Office Surgery, Prenatal Care and the Reproductive System, Medical Insurance and Medical Records, Injections, Digestive and Urinary Systems, Skeletal and Muscular Systems, Medical Office Management, Medical Billing & Collections and Medical Coding.

The program includes an unpaid externship experience at a local medical office or healthcare facility. Both day and evening classes are available. Most students complete training within approximately 60 weeks attending day classes and 84 weeks attending evening classes.

By pursuing a Medical Assistant Degree at CTI, you will:

Learn to perform Clinical Tasks

Become versed in medical vocabulary and terminology, anatomy and physiology, allowing you to dispense medications, take and monitor vital signs, draw blood, run certain diagnostic tests and provide patients with the information they need to better understand their medical condition(s).

Run a Front Office Administration

Understand what it takes to make a medical office run successfully by learning medical administrative processes, general management, customer satisfaction and business communication skills. This includes becoming proficient in working with software applications, medical billing and medical coding procedures, as well as health insurance submissions and reimbursement practices.

Know and Understand Regulatory Guidelines
