Quality Career Training in Washington DC

Online Training Available

Career Technical Institute (CTI) is a premier technical and career training institution in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. CTI provides individuals with knowledge, hands-on practical experience, and skills necessary for them to secure and retain productive and rewarding careers in Office Administration, Healthcare Services, and Information Technology. CTI is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education and is a registered school operating under a license from the Washington, DC Higher Education Licensure Commission. CTI is also approved by the U.S. Department of Education to participate in the Title IV Federal Financial Aid programs.

History

CTI first got its start in 1949 when it was created by an employment agency in New York City to provide permanent, full-time job placement services. By 1980, computer technology was rapidly automating offices all over the country and a demand developed for quality training programs to produce a technically skilled workforce. To meet the needs of the business community, CTI’s parent company established its first Learning Center in New York in 1980 and its next learning center in Washington, D.C. in 1992. In May 2003, the D.C. Learning Center was privately acquired with the goal of providing relevant vocational training to the residents in the metropolitan Washington, DC area. On March 19, 2007, the institution formally changed its name to Career Technical Institute, Inc.

Mission

Career Technical Institute’s mission is to provide our students with the knowledge, hands-on practical experience and employment skills necessary for them to successfully compete in today’s job market.

CTI not only provides training for individuals, but it also offers specialized training to companies that have a need to provide employees with new skills training. CTI delivers programs using engaging learning methods, as well as advanced learning tools and expert instruction in modern classroom facilities with up-to-date technology.

Core Values

CTI is an ethical institution that demonstrates professionalism and leads by example. Students are CTI’s #1 priority. CTI values diversity, collaboration and also respects students’ opinions. CTI’s expert instructors like to include students in problem-solving and encourage outside-the-box thinking, aiming to create a fun, engaging learning environment.

Programs

All students who attend one of CTI’s vocational programs are offered the opportunity to participate in the Career Services Program for job search and placement assistance.
