Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and the impact they had in U.S. history. CTI is proud to participate in the celebration of and commemoration of this month.

February 17th CTI will have a Staff Chili Cook-Off. Staff Members will sign up if they want to bring in their own chili recipes. Our students will be the judges and we will collect their votes throughout the week. The winner of the Chili Cook-Off will be revealed on February 24th.

Career Technical Institute will be hosting a school trip to the African American Museum at 1 pm, Feb. 19th. Dr. Sharon Conn, Chief Academic Advisor at CTI, and Ms. Keisha Dixon,  Student Services Academic Advisor at CTI, organized this great event to commemorate Black History Month. 80 tickets are available,  first-come-first-serve. Campus ID required. Special event lanyards will be made for students who attend the trip.

Friday, May 10th – Graduation Day

Get ready! The big day has finally arrived. Everything that you have worked so hard for has finally come to fruition. Enjoy this wonderful day of recognition with friends and family. Each person attending the ceremony will be required to have a ticket and you are allowed three tickets for your guests (tickets are distributed with cap and gown).

The event will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, located at 801 Mount Vernon Place, NW, Washington, D.C. 20001, from 1:30PM to 3:30PM.

Celebrate Father’s Day Sunday, June 16

CTI celebrates Father’s Day and the joy of fatherhood. It is important to recognize and honor dads – they bring love, strength, and to children all over the world.

Cake will be available for students who are fathers (first come, first serve).
