Learn about Transfer College Credits
Testing Out Procedures
College credit transfer and/or Vocational School credit transfer is a surprisingly common part of the college and vocational school experience. Career Technical Institute accepts up to 49% of eligible college credits and/or vocational school credits into its Certificate and Degree Programs. Contact our Admissions office to learn which Online or Campus Certificate or Degree is best for you. Once you decide which Certificate or Degree program you wish to transfer credits into, our educational staff will evaluate your transcript. Then our Admissions Advisors will provide you with the courses needed and the reduced tuition, based upon your transfer credits. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable for the evaluation process, but official transcripts will be needed to finalize your enrollment.
Which college credit courses may be eligible for transfer?
There are courses that are prerequisites for most certificate and degree programs. Maximize what you have already worked hard to earn for credits by simply emailing CTI your transcript and we will evaluate it for all possible transfer credits and testing out opportunities. A CTI Admissions Advisor can help you determine which Certificate or Degree is best for you and can ensure your transcript reaches the education department for evaluation. CTI can also assist you with “Test-Out” courses.
Equivalent Transfer Credit Awarded for “Testing-Out”
Former CTI students interested in re-enrolling should contact Admissions to determine which certificate or degree program is right for you. Then, our Student Services Department determines which Academic credit will be given for any course completed that is part of the new or continuing program.
For non-CTI students who have previous experience and/or training in any of CTI’s Certificate or Degree program courses, you may take a test on that course to satisfy the completion requirements. Equivalent transfer credit will be awarded to students who can demonstrate course competencies by passing an industry certification examination or receive a passing grade of 70% or better on the final examination for the course. Incoming students may “Test-Out” of up to 49% of their desired program. Any equivalent transfer credits are included in the credits attempted and the credits earned. There is no fee for each “Test-Out” application.
