Career Planning with CTI Advisors

Advice from a CTI career advisor can set your career development path on the road to success, allowing you to pursue a more satisfying and fruitful career choice. CTI’s career development center can help you with a qualified career assessment and help you identify career opportunities in the current job market.

All students who attend one of CTI’s vocational programs are offered the opportunity to participate in the Career Services Program and to utilize the resources of the department. While employment is not guaranteed, placement assistance is always available to CTI students willing to work alongside a CTI career advisor in their search for employment.

CTI’s Career Development program will provide students with the opportunity to:

  • Plan their future to identify a specific field of interest
  • Set goals for success at each stage of career development
  • Attain the tools and skills necessary to advance
  • Develop the capacity to express suitability for a given job in the cover letter, resume and interview
  • Navigate the job search process for career opportunities with career counseling

Career Counseling

Career Services assistance with a career coach usually begins after the student has obtained 12 credits and attended the following instructor-led workshops:  Effective Written Communications, Interviewing Skills and Building a Powerful Resume.  At this time, students have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a Career Services staff member to receive counseling and assistance in preparing a resume, developing effective interview skills and in implementing a successful job search strategy.  The expansion of such skills increases the students’ chances of moving into a position of more responsibility and prestige as he/she moves through his/her career.

Career Resources

Get access to more than 1,000 job boards with CTI’s career resources when you enter your search criteria during registration. Our aggregate job board will  send you an email informing you of jobs that are possible matches. You can also get access to leading experts and learn from FREE Job Seeker Webinars.

Interactive Workshops

In addition to individual career counseling and career planning, students are provided with informational and interactive Employment Skills Workshops.  These seminars deal with such topics as cover letters, resume writing, interviewing techniques, how to target specific employers, internet searches and job-hunting record keeping.  Finally, in order to ensure that a student is prepared to meet with an employer, he/she can request a mock interview session with a CTI career coach.  During this time, the student is able to practice the interviewing process in a simulated environment.

Gainful Employment Disclosures

In accordance with the Council on Occupational Education, CTI discloses Individual program completion and placement rates in its catalog annually. Additionally, in accordance with the U.S. Department of Education Gainful Employment Disclosure regulations for schools and colleges, CTI assists students and their families in making informed decisions about their education and career choices by providing them gainful employment and net price calculator information on its website.
